A beautifully carved set of cabinetry panels or door, framed sculpture in bas relief. They may have come from a cabinet or as salvage from a deconstructed paneling of a room in a chateau. The pair offered together are carved in heavy old forest growth wood which looks like oak though I admit I am not a wood expert. Neo-Renaissance motifs, a hint of gothic in the winged dragon griffins (4 in all). Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition, I don't see issues like chips or cracks. It seems the centers have been framed in with deep milled trim, almost framed, and from backside you can see there's a newer wood panel perhaps in support if the carved panels needed additional thickness. They are heavy. Whether you make these up as cabinet doors, or simply hang them on your walls as art, or incorporate them into your book shelves - you'll love them. Wonderful accents!
