Beautiful pair! My Christmas pillows! I made these decades ago (maybe 25 years ago), and so I know exactly what went into them. I bought a bolt of French loomed 100% silk ribbon, thick and lush (and expensive - $80 a yard) and sewed the ribbon in strips to make the pillow tops for these. They are a bit opulent, indeed. I can tell you each of the 5" long lush French passementerie tassels were $35 when I made the pillows, and there are 8 of them. This type of long tassels run much higher now, and France is down to only 2 passementerie companies. The plaid backing is not silk. They each have zipper openers and each in 100% down filled, pillow forms with 500 thread count cases so no tiny down works its way out. Light in weight for the size, they're wonderful for Christmas, which is when they've been out and on display, and they've been kept clean and unused in cotton dust bags through the entire off-season. I should have combed the tassels before photos. Time for them to belong to someone else.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. These have really no flaws notable, and have been on display only at Christmastime for the past 25 years since I made them. The woven 100% silk heavy ribbon tops are pristine. No odors, no smokers, no pets. Very full of down, fluffy and ready to decorate year round or Christmas, you'll decide. Photos show you a range, variety of other pillows and settings to help you imagine where they'll work best for you.
