Exquisite antique French sterling silver & swirled glass 10 1/4" tall 34oz wine or claret jug with ornate rococo styling, large silver rocaille accented medallion with ornate interlaced "DC" monogram and fabulous condition! One of only two that we currently have available, this one just in from France and just in time for the Holiday season entertaining. Beautifully ornate with sinuous acanthus accented handle, thick pierced or reticulated silver footed base and no detail overlooked here. The swirled glass body likely Baccarat, the most prominent glass company of the time. The silver parts bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" in the upper right of those marks means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and so higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark appears to be for Rudolphe Beunke, Paris circa 1888-1910. A gorgeous service piece literally made for royalty, don't miss it!
Very good to excellent condition. I see no flaws to note. No damage or repairs to the silver portions and no chips, cracks or damage to the glass body. The jug holds roughly 34 fluid ounces with a bit of space to spare. See pictures for all measurements.
