Fine antique French Napoleon III to Belle Epoque era souvenir "benetier" or Holy water font in ornate reticulated brass with mother of pearl font or basin and eglomise or reverse painted glass scene! This one showing Christ appearing before a kneeling nun, likely a saint now. These sometimes have captions or titles at the bottom, this one doesn't but that would make it so much easier to determine who exactly it's a depiction of. A wonderful piece, dating c. 1900, give or take a few years, it's worked into a lovely holy font with mother of pearl font/basin, pressed brass frame that is just over 6" in height.
Very good to excellent condition. No loss to the reverse painting, it's done on a slightly convex oval glass that has no chips or cracks. No damage to the frame or pearl font. See pictures for all measurements.
