Excellent condition for one of these old ones, as if it was never used much at all. We can never keep these in inventory - often selling as movie props for your vintage favorite series sets. This beauty is fin leather with ornate gold embossed "Banque de France", and the maker or purveyor's embossed also, "Mouthet & Pernny, 11 rue Guillot - Montrouge" on the lockable flap. While we do not have the key, perhaps one can be made for it. Full measurements noted on the photos, it is over 12 1/4" wide, 6 1/4" tall and expands from a 2 1/2" closed depth to a full 9", accordion-pleated sides also in great condition and c. 1890-1910.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, late 19th century to perhaps as late as 1910, it has superb leather composition with inside cloth-covered card sections and inner flap. Hardly seems used at all, and is the finest of these we've ever found. Most look well-used. As noted above, no key with it at listing time, and we won't have this type. I'm unsure if a locksmith can provide one or fashion one. Sold without key. Locking mechanism appears fully intact, however. Fabulous item!
