Fabulous antique French 18k gold on solid silver tiara, diadem or crown with oak leaves & acorns and medallion with bow & ribbon, all in the original storage and/or presentation box! The laurel leaf award corona, crown or diadem, this one with oak leaves & acorns along with the laurel leaves. These were often awards for the Expo or art or trades competitions. The gold laurel would be the highest award. Prestigious and would have raised the value of the artisan’s work. Longstanding tradition in France. I've not found hallmarks on the crown itself but they're surely there. The other we have available bears the tiny French boar's head hallmark designating that it's .800 silver under the gold plating (80% pure or better silver content). A gold embossed label inside the box reads "Deplaix Journal L'Orpehon, 16 Boulevard du Temple, Paris". A beautiful piece and one of two that we're listing this week. Wonderful pieces of history and also lovely decorative pieces.
Very good to excellent condition. Some signs of age to the exterior of the box but no structural damage and no damage that I can see to the crown itself. See pictures for all measurements.
