Splendid early to mid-1800s French Neo-Renaissance sculptures are a pair of opposite facing figural candlesticks. They're 9.5" tall without the attending and elaborate crystal chandelier drops/bobeche which will be included. The bobeche are also antique and French, beautifully cut in facets - those long drops, and shimmering in light, the overall effect when lighted at table or mantel is magnificent. The figures, each cast with different faces, lean on the tail of the griffins modeled below them, raised on a sort of triangulated base or plinth that is 4.5" x 3" and very sturdy. My favorite pair of a lifetime, finally ready to let them go. My own collections are being disbursed, antiques I've collected over 4 decades or more. Don't miss these best-of-best pieces. Very good to excellent, a gorgeous patina of gold on bronze. Fine sculptures in their own right, they always bring compliments. I can point out 1 flaw: the extra candle holder inset is missing on one side. It shows only as a slight rise in height, really, and is not necessary to mount the candle. One might simply remove the one that remains, so they'll match again, but the one in place will be sent out with the pair, as shown. I love the patina. Found in France over 30 years ago. The elegant bobeche are also antique, mid-late 1800s, and they are complete and flawless.
