A desk accessory of the finest quality, c.1900-1920, in supple superb and thick leather with the 'epi' patterning we're used to in Louis Vuitton bags and goods (my favorite is their Epi line!). This is an elegant stationery folder, sterling silver desk blotter type corner trim and a sterling silver monogram. Fabulous desk top accessory to go with your collection of silver and crystal inkwells! Gold embossed "Mappin & Webb" on the inside. Mappin & Webb was, in that time, one of the very finest purveyors of luxury goods in London, on the famed Bond Street.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Displays very nicely. The folio or folder is a deep hunter green leather inside, and the exterior is dyed black. Interior is just perfectly preserved, as you can see, and has slip-folders on each side for envelopes, cards, letters, etc., and shows no wear or use. The exterior does show some age, use, wear. One corner of the silver protectors has a ding-dent, shown enlarged. Hallmarks are on both corner mounts. The mounts could stand to have a wheel polish to bring them up quite a bit in shine. The circle monogram is a bit hard to make out. My best guess is overlapping M and T. Corners of the spine/fold show some age, visible in our photos. Full measurements of this larger sized folio are noted on the photos.
