Elegant antique French Napoleon III Empire Revival style gilt bronze & green marble 5 5/8" desktop inkwell with pen or quill holder, bow & ribbon accenting and wonderful condition! We've always just loved antique inkwells whether they're sterling silver, great old Black Forest carved pieces or these wonderful French Empire style pieces. We've actually had several of our inkwells listed in antique inkwell reference books over the years. This one in richly gilded bronze, the attached base tray framing a beautifully grained green marble with bronze pen or quill holders near the front. Fabulous, don't miss it!
Very good to excellent condition. A bit of age patina in places to the gilding but no notable damage, flaws or repairs. The inkwell itself is, however, missing the inner glass ink pot. See pictures for all measurements.
