A truly exceptionally fine work of miniature art, just look at the detail and personality in that beautiful 3/4" face (chin to hairline). The artist has signed the work, F Savoy, and dated it 1826. Superb portrait even if it were full-sized, and everything I search for this artist turns up Royals from Savoy, instead. You will definitely want to spend some time as I am certain this is a listed artist if I could get Google out of the way. She is perfectly preserved beneath the original cover glass, which still has traces of the paper seal which has been broken so the portrait can be photographed without the deep convex. Once back in her frame, it's nearly impossible to not get glares and reflections. The painting and the woman are just stunning!

Very good to excellent condition throughout. I just have a sense that this is not the right mount/frame for her painting. It seems a micron or two large for it, though it certainly displays her beautifully. As noted, original convex cover glass - trace of the tissue seal on both the glass and the painting, which is accomplished in gouache on wafer, but is backed by card. Measurements noted on the photos. One of my favorites - found in France, of course.
