She's a lovely mid-1800s in pink dress and lace bonnet, and she's a work in kiln-fired enamel on a slightly convex metal plaque. The painting is backed by a mother of pearl panel, as you can see, but the work is much much more difficult than just a painting on shell. No cover glass needed, nor original - all original state and she's protected in a period camelback brooch box, also early Victorian or earlier. Measurements in full of both objects are noted on our photos. The gold has been acid tested at 10k, and has no marks to identify maker nor artist. The antique box stays with her, and is a valuable antique all on its own.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. You can see, looking at our greatly enlarged photos of this one, there is a very fine hairline in the old enamel at about the 10 o'clock position to her side. It is remarkably little damage for this fragile type of work, and hasn't any dents nor loss to the old 10k brooch mount. She's been with me for a decade or so. Just now getting her on market. If pandemic continues, I'm going to get completely caught up on crates and crates of unlisted inventory, aren't I.
