Such a sweet little item for anyone who appreciates needlework or embroidery. You may wish to actually put it to use, but it came to us from France with the darling little alphabet sampler of some young girl, last half of 1800s. Girls were often not taught to read, but they were taught to embroider and sew, needle arts. This alphabet sampler was a way to begin leaning both. Open linen canvas, numbers and letters filling it. The combination of these 2 antiques makes it a little bit of art for a side table, or bookshelf display. Full measurements are noted on the photos. This is actually sized right for a lot of the antique Bru doll house furnishings and would also be spectacular used in that way. Purchased in France.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The little frame is hand-crafted for a child, or a young girl, and is a working needlework frame, simple to use. The little tapestry sampler is full of charm and other than a slight staining of centuries, it also is very good. Lots of photos to show all. And full measurements are noted on the photos.
