A beautifully preserved late 1800s desktop or traveler's folio for stationery and pen, still in superb form and begging to be used. A wonderful way to gift a friend who still writes lovely letters, notes by hand, or to carry your business stationery and cards (as you see mine in place). There is a holder for a pen, too. Interior is a lovely brocaded silk satin, and edged with gold-embossed leather. The outer leather cover is splendid, accented with the most delicately crafted appliqués pair, solid cast brass, not pressed. Obviously was an elegant purchase when new, and appears new even now. Treasured!
Very good to excellent, it is easily packable, folded, at 8" x 6", and is pocketed within for storage and for a pen. Almost no evidence at all to give it's age away, but we know it is Belle Epoch, and French.
