Absolutely gorgeous antique French Napoleon III or Victorian era 16 3/4" tall hand carved solid walnut wall, clock or 'bracket' shelf with highly ornate scrolling tendrils or acanthus, seashell shaped lower finial and marvelous condition! Huge & heavy, this one weighs an impressive 8 lbs, 9 oz (3.9 kg) and is solid old European walnut hardwood. A beautiful warm finish or patina and as beautifully ornate as they come. Use it to display a beautiful old clock, statue or bust perhaps but whatever you put on it had better be pretty good or the shelf will get all of the attention :). Magnificent!
Very good to excellent condition. I really see no flaws with this piece. There may be a few tiny nips to the wood but there are no larger chips, no splits, damage or repairs to note. Just superb! See pictures for all measurements.
