Still perfectly fitted in its box and with etiquette for the firm, "Irlande, Marchand des Nouveautes, Palais Royal no.28" (Paris).  Petit early XIX fan with 13 ribs of bone and the 2 guard and sticks in boiled or blond horn remain in quite fine condition for age. It is an early 1800s fan, likely c.1815-25, and has a guard length of 16.5 cm and open, it is 27 cm. Front and backside tulle leaf, the front is beautifully embroidered with a variety of sequins. The horn guards and sticks are inlaid with pique dots and stars, nearly all still in place.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Delicate, yet so nicely preserved. I see one stick not secured to its rib but it's not easy to notice. I have an "x" at the rib where it would join to the stick, for your review. Very little splitting to the leaf at just a couple of folds and the silver foil ribbon edge is superb for age. The box is even very well preserved, card and paper. As you see, the paper etiquette remains. Slight foxing to the corners of the box, but still complete after 200 years.
