An absolutely stunning little painting, intimate as can be, a superb devotional in fine antique to vintage Italianate frame that elevates it all the more. This is just incredibly fine work, though I can find no signature. A scene often portrayed, God looks down from heaven upon Mary and baby Jesus, John (the Baptist) and his mother as well as the significance of the lamb - fabulous knowing those faces are only 3/8" from chin to hairline. Look at the incredible detail. It has certainly been a labor of love, this petit work of fine art. It hangs on my walls right now. Downsizing is rough! I will miss this one! Very good to excellent condition for age and type, you can see it fully in our enlarged photos, and see the brushstrokes of a certain Master, though signature isn't in view. Painted on a wood plaque, it might well be 18th century, but I'm certain the panel has been framed as you see it some time in the 19th century, and the frame has a Florentine or Italianate elegance to it that perfectly houses the work of art. As you can see, very slight imperfections to the painted surface, but nothing missing, and unlike canvas paintings, it survives without any holes or restorations. Frame is in fine condition, just aged enough to know it, too, is antique.
