Fine Antique French Charles X to Napoleon III era painter's box, rosewood veneers with brass strip inlays and orignal tray interior with porcelain mixing pots and several watercolor paint tiles!  Several watercolor bricks, and with four original porcelain water/mixing pots, this beautiful 19th century French watercolor box just arrived. It's in fine form throughout with rosewood veneers and brass inlays. The lift-out tray has several old French watercolor bricks, as you can see. The set also includes a fantastic porcelain palette, the maker stamp partly illegible but I can make out "Medaille D'Or 1834 1839" which means the company was awarded the gold medal at both world expos.  Full measurements noted on the photos.

Very good condition for age and type, circa early 1800s would be my best guesstimate on age give the marking on the palette and also the carved edging on the box (most common in Charles X era pieces). You can make out the embossed markings on some of the paint bricks in our enlarged photos, "Binant a Paris". Box is well preserved with just one small segment of the brass wire inlay missing from the left side. Original lift out tray with partitions, a few missing.   No breaks or chips to the four remaining hard paste porcelain pots and the palette is pristine. A very nice set, indeed!
