A charming Victorian needlework fire screen in shield form, the kind which would mount to an expanding hinged metal clamp apparatus which would anchor to a fireplace mantel. This one has been used, has the hooks still across the top which would have mounted to its bracket (see one of the metal brackets in final images, not included). These are wonderful now both in size and beauty, to make up into a large down-filled throw pillow top. This one has a cotton backing, and the original passementerie braided cord trim. Finished as it is, one could just stitch it to the top of an existing heavy silk or velvet pillow. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good condition for age and type. There are some missing beads one will want to replace but it's a simple job for anyone handy with needle and thread. The missing ones are mostly black and therefore easily replaced with glass beads from any crafts store. Wool needlepoint is in very nice condition, no moth issues and no missing stitches. . .just those few black glass beads mostly upper right. The back lining also remains in very good condition.
