Rare to find, the petit novelty sewing etui to please a child or as a doll's sewing necessaire, these were made using real walnut shells. This is the better one we have in inventory, recently acquired along with a collector's estate out of France. Still bright brass and steel implements, working scissors, tiny stiletto, needle case, child-size thimble, even the small bodkin (needle). Full measurements noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Only high natural separations on the polished shell (shown from all sides/views for your inspection). Silk satin and velvet interior remains in pretty presentation as does the engraved brass frame, hinge and clasp. Closes smoothly, clasps firmly. These are rare!
