Gorgeous & rare antique French sterling silver 15 5/8" tall tea or coffee kettle, pot or samovar with ornate spiraled body styling, stand with warmer and armorial style heraldry with familial crests and royal crown! We've been lucky over the years to find a few of these, a rather rare style for French sterling silver and this one, with the crown topped heraldry, is all that much more rare. Stunning really and a fabulous serving piece and/or accent to your fine sterling silver serving ensemble. The piece stands a total of 15.5" tall with the handle, has a total weight of troy ounces or grams and the pot itself holds up to 74 fluid ounces. All separate pieces bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means all are in .950 silver (95% pure and so above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are for Martial Gauthier, Paris circa 1888-1902. A remarkable and rare piece, don't miss it!
Very good to excellent condition. Possibly a tiny dimple or two but I see no larger dents, damage or repairs. A stunning piece, as you can see from the extensive images.
