If you've ever been to Lucern, Switzerland, you're still in love with it. I know I am. The picturesque bridges, old city, natural and architectural beauty and such history! You'll recognize the view, Alps in near distance, on this Grand Tour souvenir wall plaque that is carved as a bread board, traditionally, but onto which some fine artist has done a marvelous small oil painting. The outer border is rich with edelweiss, the Swiss National flower, and of course identified in script, carved: Lucern. It is 10.75" in diameter. I'm so tempted to hang this one in my other home, in honor of my own Swiss grandmother and ancestors. They came from Appenzel, and if this were of that splendid valley, I'd never part with it.
Very good to excellent for age and type. There is that fabulous oil painting, which has a tiny spot of missing paint. If you're handy, and desire it to be touched up, you can evaluate it in our images. I'm happy with it just as it is. I find little if any chips on leaf tips or flowers, and no cracks or disturbance to the 10.75" diameter platter. Kind of in love with this one! Don't leave it with me too long!
