A sweet little oval jewelry or trinket box, likely someone's Grand Tour souvenir of France. This one is by the highly skilled artisans of Bresse, France, lots of dots, geometric patterning, a beautiful one which has no flaws notable other than that someone has given it a more recent lining inside. These date around c.1850-70s, and with some variation in the work, there are also many of these elegant little jewels that have been created in another enamelist's colony in the Sevres, France community. Very good to excellent condition, I see nothing by way of a flaw. No chips or cracks, no noticeable hairlines, though our greatly enlarged photos will allow you to check it to see if my aging eyes missed anything, please. Measurements are noted on our photos.
