A mid-Victorian (Napoleon III) era pair of stunning cufflinks, each side an oval of beveled tortoise shell discs, joined by a heavy solid 9k marked chain, and still housed in their original camel back presentation case, box. The added fun of it being marked in gold embossment in inner lid with a Palais Royal address - sublime. I've had these for decades, worn them a few times. The gold hasn't shown one bit of tarnish. But it is marked .385 and also 9ct. One half expects that they're English crafted, but this is how I bought them.
Very good to excellent for age and type, with a nod to one chip on one of the smaller of 2-sized panels of shell (marked, shown well) which is the underside of the cuff when worn. All measurements are noted on the photos.
