A small pair of child's hand made leather shoes, traditional Greek Tsarouchi, likely were someone's Grand Tour souvenir. They are dated 1911 and with initials GP opposite the initials. Total length is just 6.25" (15cm) and I'd say they're equivalent to an 18-24 month old child's foot. Never worn. It's possible they were made specifically for a child. They're not the kind of thing in which I have much expertise, really, though fashion is always of interest to me to help identify paintings and portrait miniatures. These find their way to me from a customer who has asked me to disburse collections. They're really quite charming.
Excellent unused condition, leather is thick and still supple. All stitching is by hand, and I would think the leathers are artisan crafted, dyed, cut, embossed and sewn. Size noted above.
