Elegant antique Victorian era American 17 3/4" tall shelf or mantel clock, heavy tole painted metal case facade with ornate papier mache style mother of pearl & hand painted decoration!  One of three similar American clocks that we're adding this week, all in the jet black papier mache style with mother of pearl inlays, gilt or gold enamel accenting and hand painted designs but this one with a heavy iron facade.  No markings on the dial/face and none that I can see on the clock mechanism itself, there is a partially legible label on the back that reads "A. Ween(sp), Manufacturer and Dealer of Watches, Clocks...Fine Jewelry...Stamford Conn.".  Also, there is another black label on the upper portion of the back of the metal facade though about all I can decipher is "Patent Applied for,".  This one is running though I've not tested it for duration or accuracy, it does have a key and what what appears to be the original pendulum.  An elegant decorative piece whether running or not!

Very good condition.  As noted, this one is running.  The clock face has two holes, one for clock and other for chime but there is no chime on the mechanism so either the mechanism or the clock face is a replacement (more likely the latter).  The case is in fine shape, large clear images show all.  See pictures for measurements.
