Delightful & rare antique Victorian era Black Forest hand carved 5" single inkwell, a bushy haired dog with thick faceted well and original carved foliate top! As charming as can be, not sure of the breed but he's carved from one solid, heavy block of hardwood rather than the linden wood we normally see in these old Black Forest pieces. A faceted glass well resting in and on the crown of his head. Lovely!
Very good condition. Some ink staining visible on the wood and possibly a small nip or two to the wood but no other notable damage. See pictures for all measurements.
