Fabulous antique French Louis XVIII to Louis Philippe era 12pc hallmarked silver 8" entremet or dessert knife set, vermeil with shimmering mother of pearl handles and gilt embossed & tooled leather fitted presentation box! In a word, gorgeous! The complete service for 12, all matching and complete, no hallmarks but the collar & caps are surely 22K gold plated sterling silver (vermeil), or at the very least would be 18K. Also, the cartouche you see inlaid there is 18K gold vermeil. The service is stunning, the hallmarks on the blades date them between 1819-1838 or the Louis XVIII to Louis Philippe era, a set you'll use for luncheon, fruit, cheese and dessert service, and will thrill to own as your own family heirloom set.  Be sure to browse some while you're with us, we've been adding a host of truly superb old French, European & American silver pieces & flatware sets and we're sure to tempt you! Very good condition. One piece, marked with the blue tape, has a repaired break at the handle/blade mount. I see no damage or flaws to the solid mother of pearl handles and just a few age or tarnish marks to the vermeil blades.  The box appears original and is in great shape, age considered, but has a leather strip repair to one hinge and it's missing one of the front clasps.
