Gorgeous antique French 6pc salad & hors d'oeuvre serving utensil or implement set in 18k gold "vermeil" on solid hallmarked .800 (nearly sterling) silver with vermeil & silver acanthus accented Russian style round handles, engraved bowls, etc. and in the original fitted storage and/or presentation box! A beautiful and truly elegant set, I always love the combination of gold and silver in these fine serving pieces. All pieces bear the post-1878 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "2" in the lower right corner means they're in .800 silver (at least 80% pure just below the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The slightly lower silver content actually rather common in these serving pieces, it gives them a bit more strength/durability. Silversmith marks are for Paul Girard, Paris circa 1877-1891. Stunning, don't miss them!
Excellent condition. I see no damage and no loss of vermeil to any of the pieces.. The box is also in great shape, a deep burgundy with gilt embossed canted edges, working clasp and light blue tufted silk or satin lining. There is a gold embossed retailers stamp inside the lid that reads "B. Bardon & Fils, Montpellier". See pictures for all weights and measurements.
