Elegant antique French hallmarked .800 (nearly sterling) silver & solid mother of pearl handled knife set, in the RARE larger dinner size with ornate acanthus accents, unique blade shape and original fitted storage and/or presentation box! We have several sets of beautiful old mother of pearl handled knifes but finding the larger dinner sized pieces is quite rare. The pearl handled pieces really are one of my personal favorites, both for their innate shimmering attractiveness but also the weight in the hand, can't beat them. A lovely set here, heavy solid pearl handles with hallmarked sterling silver collars in the form o f draped acanthus leaves. Original steel blades intact, quite unique in shape also. Fabulous, don't miss them!

Very good condition. As noted in the images, two of the pearl handles have repaired breaks, one of those with a chip to the pearl end. One blade on another knife appears to have had a chip to its tip that's been hammered and shaped to match the others but resulted in thinner steel there. SO, with the flaws, you basically have a service for ten and the repaired blade could likely be swapped to one of the knives with the repaired pearl handle. I'm sure the repaired handles could also be done to end up being more presentable and usable. The box is somewhat aged, as you can see, but fully intact with both clasps and inner gold stamp of the maker. It and the blades read "Charvet, Havre". See pictures for all measurements.
