A favorite from my own collections, I've had this cast bronze Labrador retriever for over 30 years. And that final photo shows how he's been displayed all this time, on a home made display lamp plinth my youngest son made for me in Jr High shop class. The lamp works adjust to varied heights , and the shade is silk (it seems like it probably ought to go along with the bronze, unless you do not want it - so please tell me either way). This 19th century casting is unsigned, is from an original sculpture by Jules Moigniez (French, 1834 - 1894). There is a foundry mark but no signature. I've enlarged the foundry mark for your review. The plinth is hollow-cast, and it has never been mounted to a marble plinth which is often done.  As focus of my lamp, he's been everyone's favorite accent, whether on my desk or living room table, or as now, my bedside table. The bronze is not adhered to the lamp base, which is cut just to fit this bronze.

Very good to excellent without bends or breaks, just a gorgeous anatomical study from the Animalier movement in 19th century art and sculpture. Again, not signed by Moigniez, but certain after his work and beautifully done. Foundry mark is there and bears further study. It may well be the lesser cast made for market from Moigniez foundry. Very lauded and well-known artist, even the detail on the base is exquisite. Noble! Superb accent. Adjustable lamp base and silk shade can be included, if desired.
