Pristine condition early 1800s Paris Grand Tour souvenir, white opaline perfume or scent bottle, flask, flacon is complete with original stopper. Beautifully shrouded in decorative cutaway brass casement and raised with similar base, it has a hinged cap with a little eglomise (back-painted glass) souvenir of Paris's iconic Notre Dame cathedral. Dear to my own heart, I was last in Paris when Notre Dame burned, and will return next month for the first time since pandemic curtailed travel. Can't wait to see Our Lady, always my first stop on all my many many trips. I've read they expect her to be open to public by 2024, surprising after so much loss. I thought when she burned I would never again be inside my old friend. . . but, maybe. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, age and type considered. This one is as nice as they come, original undamaged stopper in undamaged neck, no chips or hairlines or cracks, no breaks in the brass shrouding, no dings or bends to the hinged cap. The little painting is charming, too, with people in the foreground. None finer for your collection!
