& beveled glass lid and gilded framework including side handles & lion or foo dog figural feet! I'll have to go back and look closer but I seem to remember that the base of this one is marked "Baccarat". If so, I'll take a photo and add to the listing. If not, it's quite common to find unmarked Baccarat pieces, which this definitely is. Stunning really, the craftsmanship superb and simply as elegant as can be. I've added an array of photos, different views & angles so peruse and ENJOY! A real 'jewel' here!
Founded in 1764 in Baccarat, Lorraine, Baccarat began by producing mirrors, windowpanes, and utilitarian stemware. In 1816, it fired its first crystal furnace, launching its journey into fine lead crystal production.
In 1823, Baccarat landed its first royal commission, marking its arrival on the world stage. By 1855, it had earned a gold medal at the Paris World Fair and rapidly built a reputation for exquisite craftsmanship. Baccarat crystal, especially rare or elaborately designed pieces, retain strong market value thanks to their craftsmanship, brand prestige, and heritage.
Excellent condition. Possibly very faint surface scuffs or scratches to the top lid surface but, as you can see, the entire piece is as near pristine as one could hope for. No chips, cracks, damage or repairs to note. See images for all measurements.
