Fine antique French, likely Baccarat, 8" desk or writer's pen tray with Empire or Louis XVI Revival style in thick cut glass and gilt bronze ribbon & laurel garland encasement! Likely originally part of a set, to include an inkwell, likely stationery stand, etc. but, as is common, we often find these as single/separate pieces now. Only very rarely do we find a complete set. This one likely Baccarat glass or crystal but with no markings so impossible to say for sure. An elegant desk or writing table top accent though and, of course, we don't want to limit its use to just that. Use your imagination.
Good-very good condition, age considered. The most notable flaw is a relatively large corner chip, shown in the pictures. Some wear to the gilding with the coppery bronze hue visible. See images for all measurements.
