Lovely antique French Napoleon III era Rococo Revival or Louis XV style gilt brass or bronze 4" wide jewelry casket or trinket box, ornate with hand painted portrait miniature on convex porcelain plaque! Unique shape to this one, with the convex front & back and concave sides. All four foliate appliques are intact on the domed lid panel, also machined with an intricate textured pattern, acanthus scrolls decorate the side panels all around. The portrait painted on porcelain, a young beauty with necklace and pink dress & bonnet style cap. Wonderful.
Very good condition. Possibly a very minor flaw but, as you can see in the images, the exterior is fabulous. The interior lid and base have newer/restored tan/cream moire type fabric lining (not silk). See images for all measurements.
