Elegant antique French hallmarked sterling silver handled 10" pastry or asparagus tongs with reticulated folliate pincers, Louis XVI Revival style acanthus accented bow & ribbon handle pattern and wonderful condition! One of two that we're adding this week, this one with the actual wide pincers being silver plated with the handle being in sterling silver. It bears the post-1838 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" in the upper right means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and so above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark is for Pierre Bezon, Paris circa 1913. Gorgeous and as near pristine as one could hope for!
Very good to excellent condition. Very, very subtle dimpling in the handle but in overall fabulous shape. The silver plating in France historically thicker than most other countries, as evidenced by the lack of wear, etc. to this piece's pincers. See images for measurements and weight.
