Lovely antique French Napoleon III or Victorian era hand carved walnut 18" x 15.5" picture frame with four intaglio prints, a folding doll sized miniature dressing screen form and wonderful visual & decorative appeal! A picture frame yes but it just about screams to be used as a dressing screen in an opulent doll house. Hand carved solid walnut, thick & heavy and with floral accents though out and floral finials or cornices on top. The prints are all old, likely original but could be replaced with needlepoints if you wish to make it look even more like a dressing screen. I'll try to decipher, the prints appear to read "Veue du Chateau de Valery appurtenant a Monseigneur le Prince", "Ceue de l'Elise de Notre Dame de Tonnerre, et dune party de la ville", "Porte d'Halincourt, de la ville de Lion" and "Veue du village de Passy porch de Paris". A wonderful piece, as is or with your special decorative touch.

Very good condition. There are a few small chips to the top floral finials but no structural damage or warping. It also has the old original double folding hinges, just like you find on the dressing screens, allowing for it to be positioned to your liking. Original pleated silk backing too, with just a bit of staining and a few tiny holes visible. The intaglio prints are all intact but have some darkened spots, as seen in the images. See pictures for all measurements.
