Charming and rare antique 19th century hand carved Black Forest style wooden figures, one male and one female, atop indented thread spool at the bases. The total height of each is 3.75" with incredible detail to the tiny figures given their small size. Sold together as a pair, the backpacks indicate they were door-to-door sellers of kitchen goods (tiny pans, etc), and they appear to possibly be children. The bases are 1.25" in diameter.

Very good condition, age and type considered. A tiny hand missing on the boy with a tiny chip here and there, no chips to the bases that I can see. Still, very nicely preserved for such fragile old carvings, c. 1880-1910. Again, 2 needle cases sold together, just found in France.
