A lovely scissors which would have initially been part of an expanded and gorgeous early 1800s French Palais Royal sewing set, box, necessaire, I found this single set of scissors along with other similar sewing items in a group purchase made in France. I felt certain I'd find a perfect space for them in an otherwise complete boxed set, but I've decided to move our 'bits and pieces' along. Measurements noted on the photos so you can see if it might fill in your selt.
Very good condition for age and type, one side of the handles has been re-set, and oddly, is flipped rather than being symetrical or mirror-set. I've shown them from the side where the handle has been refitted. Looks like a chip at one time which is filled now. The finger loops are undamaged, which is more unusual. The collars at the joint of handles and steel scissor are each 18k gold. Sharp blades, a patina of age. ONLY the pair of scissors are sold in this offering. Somehow they got photographed with other items, so please don't be confused. I will probably have photos redone.
