Two larger sized portrait miniatures, watercolor on card, framed together in a 13" x 9 1/4" period wooden frame with claret colored silk velvet mat. The notations on back explain that they are the work of Jeanne Pline, daughter of these two people. The gentleman is Mr Joseph Pline, and the beautiful younger woman is his wife, Rosa. The paintings are exceptional, and you see "Pline" signature on the father's image, at about the 5 o'clock position. Each oval painting is 4" x 3 1/4" oval. Dated also on back, done in 1918 or 1910, perhaps each done in different years.
Very good to excellent, not a bit of loss or damage to either painting. The frame is well kept, ready to hang. The paintings might have slipped slightly in their apertures, but the back is sealed so I'll leave it to the next owner of the 2 fine little works of art, how to best deal with it. It's only in one angle of view that one can see beyond the painting, primarily the father. A lovely devotional pair by a very talented daughter, indeed.
