In from France along with some table/lap and free-standing antique French embroidery and/or needlework, quilting frames, this is the smaller of the ones we've had, and is a tabletop mount or clamp style. The hoop is 10.5" ini diameter, a nice size for working manageable sections of needlework. Complete and simple to work with, it's a beautiful old wood hoop ready to put to use, or to frame and display older pieces of needlework, or tapestry. Full measurements noted on photos.
Dating c.1890-1950, this is an old style portable hoop, easily taken along and worked on train or while visiting friends. Folds compactly for storage and shipment. Charming to use. Pretty enough to use as a frame for special heirloom needlework, too. I find no flaws.
