Rare antique Victorian era Swiss marked Ed. Schirrmann Black Forest hand carved 16.5" cuckoo clock with marvelous "Fruits of the Hunt" theme game bird & hare, satchel & horn and oak leaf accents!  I can't remember ever offering an old Black Forest cuckoo clock so this may be a first for us.  We're not sure if it runs accurately, acquired it just because of the superb carving and visual & decorative appeal.  In any event, we've priced it quite low compared to similar aged and adorned pieces.  Wonderful carving, don't miss it.

Everything is intact and the clock does click away with the weights attached.  As you can see, there is some chipping to the figural carved facade and a few of the clock face Roman numerals are replacements.  The door up top that opens for the little bird only has one wire hinge at the top and, though I can't quite get a good look at it, the bird appears somewhat tattered.  The air baffles inside the back mechanism need repair and have some tears or holes in the paper.  Doors on each side of the case, the label on the inside of the left door reads "Fabrique D'Horlogerie & Sculpture, Suisse, Ed. Schirrmann, 40 Bd Malesherbes, Paris".  See pictures for all measurements.
