We've just bought the collection of a longtime good customer, and will have 31 pieces in all listing soon. Each sold separately. The term, "eglomise" refers to a decorative technique of painting on the backside of glass. These are each little works of art. The collection varies from c.1830-1890. Will describe each as listed:
Nearly 5" tall French blown glass scent bottle elaborate ormolu encasement and 5 views of Paris monuments (1 with a hairline crack). Complete with stopper, it is 4.75" tall and 2 7/8" square at base, this one has no chips breaks, damage to the ormolu collar and hinged cap mount, it has no other flaws to note, other than a hairline across the one side panel which view is of the Concord. Complete with 5 views of the Grand Tour architectural monuments a traveler would have enjoyed taking home: Pantheon (lid), Medici Palace, Madaliene Cathedral, Arch de Triomphe and the Concord (one which has a hairline crack to the cover glass. I've always just displayed it with the Concord panel to the back view, and then it looks perfect. Possible to have that glass panel replaced, but it is the old slightly convex one and so we've left it as found and we've left that decision to its next owner. Still a lovely old thing, and beautiful in collection display.
