The pillow is a vintage pillow, perhaps made in past 30-40 years, a more solid pillow form inside than typical so it provide good support, more so than does down or feather and down fill. The antique tapestry panel used to create this decorator pillow is quiet beautiful, I'd say Victorian to Edwardian era but I'm not expert enough to tell you origin or type. A beautiful palette of wool yarns woven into it, and a panel pattern that would suggest the outer 16" of a geometric border of a much larger tapestry. The backing is a smoky blue poplin or linen fabric which has been used in a slight contrasting color for the piping trim. Back has a zipper, so could be easily taken off of the fabric pillow form inside - either for dry cleaning, or to replace that one with a down filled pillow if you'd prefer. As it is, it's about 5" in depth, good for back support, fill is too 'stiff' to crease top center, in decorator fashion.

Very good condition for age and type, I find no holes nor tears or worn spots. It has no odors, no stains. Backing is much newer and is also in very nice condition, vintage. I'm always in favor of dry cleaning, and this would be simple for this one. I found it at an antique center in very upscale Camelback area of Phoenix. I've shown it in mix/match with my own pillows and others likewise found from Scottsdale/Camelback estates, and you can see it works well with a variety, from 17th century French Aubusson to 19th century Needlepoint, or woven wool rug-type pillows. Decorator's dream - versatility!
