Charming Antique Black Forest Carved 8.5" Tall Jewelry Chest, Box, Hinged Compartments

Charming smaller antique Victorian to early Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved 8.5" tall jewelry box or chest with lovely little two bird figural top, 2-tier with two hinged compartments on top and larger space below!  Complete with lock and key, this little treasure is ready for your small treasures. Measurements are noted on the photos, but it's 8.5" tall with the birds (6 1/8" tall at the lid panel) and nest are nicely carved and in quite complete form (note wing on smaller bird). We can never keep these chests in inventory when they're this nice.

Very good condition for age and type.  Upon close inspection you notice a chip to the front right corner of the lid panel and some wing tip and beak end chipping. Some chipping to rear feet.  Working lock with key, which is quite rare, and just a very nice 2-tier chest overall.  Carved entirely by hand, most likely linden wood, Swiss carvers.  See images for all measurements.
