This is not an 18th century French salt box or cabinet, and it is a 19th century resurrection of a very popular old style which remains sought after. The 18th century ones we've had are very pricey, this one is not. It is French, it is hand carved, and has all the charming features of the old originals, a lift-top salt or flour cabinet, and a spice drawer in bottom, the carved legs and finials. We're offering it as 'antique to vintage' after an 18th century item and at decorator pricing. These are fabulous on your countertops or worked into centerpiece on your kitchen table or center bar. Full measurements are noted on the photos, with overall height 16 5/8" tallest.
Very good condition, no breaks or chips that I can see other than the top corders of the drawer. The three tiny turned finials on top appear to be replacements/restorations. Made to the aesthetic and the carvings are all lovely. Thick wood make, a bit heavy (stable) and can be on countertop or hung on wall or side of your cabinet, as was always done. No breaks, nice dark Country French patina. See pictures for all measurements.
