We recently binged a bit on Hollywood estate porcelains, and have these from an anonymous estate. This beautiful set of 10 dinner plates (9 3/4" diameter) are products of Thun's porcelain factory in Klosterle, Bohemia (presently Klasterec Czech Republic), and are hand decorated. You see the initials of the plate decorator on back, as well as some impressed marks. They (or the matching soup bowls being sold separately) are noted on back, WIEN (Vienna) and are Pirkenhammer porcelain made c 1930. A . A beautiful and delicate contrast of the gold and silver with the bold contrast of cobalt blue and wide gold borders, the set is just stunning at table. As noted, we have a matching set of 10 soup plates, and those are sold separately. Watch for those. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to very good used condition with hardly any evidence of having ever been in use. I see one light utensil mark on one, but only at angle of light. No crazing, no chips, no loss to the cobalt glaze nor the hand painted brilliant gold. No hairlines, no cracks, no evidence of any restorations. A set of 10, beautifully preserved. They're 9 3/4" in diameter and have a deep center, are 1 1/8" tall.
