Interesting handsome gentleman with a combination of a judgmental nose and labials and those sidelined eyes and worried eyebrows, it makes me wonder what he was like in person. The forward swept curls after the Napoleon haircuts, a thick cravat of the post-Revolution which might tell us he is a son or grandson of a Nobel who was lost to the guillotine. These thick wraps symbolized a reattachment bandage and were worn as protest. His gold and gem-set stick pin speaks of his wealth along with his gold vest and thick velvet navy blue jacket. Full measurements noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, he has no breaks, chips, hairlines. Some dust showing under our photo lights, which lights tiny things we don't even see, sorry. Fine gentleman, original frame and cover glass, very nicely preserved these 200+ years.
