Still in its fitted case, this mid to late 1800s sterling silver sceau, or sealing wax seal, carries a burin/hand engraved script monogram T G, I think. I've shown it reversed so you'll be able to see how it imprints sealing wax, which is a mirror-image of the engraved seal. Sort of a French Empire styling to it, and as elegantly crafted as all Antique French sterling silver. Measurements noted on the photos. Nice to still be in its fitted box, too.
Very good to excellent condition, freshly polished and I hope you can see in the photos how beautifully the silversmith's work has been done. Such fine detail. Like fine jewelry, almost. From the matrix, I can tell it's been impressed in sealing wax at least once, as very minuscule red wax can be seen. Nice enough to gift!
