Rare huge antique Victorian era Danish hallmarked sterling silver & Baccarat swirled glass desktop inkwell with original matching 8 5/8" tray engraved with dedication that reads "F. Asmussen 28 April 1896, From Colleagues In The Danish Bar Association's Main Board"!  Isn't this one simply fabulous!  The inkwell itself one of the massive "paperweight" style inkwells, it stands over 5" tall and it alone weighs an impressive 3 lbs 7 oz!  The swirled heavy crystal or glass body of the inkwell is surely Baccarat, that style being almost a signature and is as beautiful as can be along with the swirled pattern on the tray and inkwell lid!  The tray and inkwell lid/collar bear Danish hallmarks and a date or 1895.  The silversmith marks are for Anton Michelson, Copenhagen circa 1890s.  A stunning piece and one of a few fabulous old French and European inkwells that we're adding this week so, be sure to browse some while you're with us.  Thanks!

Very good to excellent condition.  Possibly a tiny nip or two and some scratching/scuffing to the base of the inkwell but, as you can see, there is no damage or repairs to note with any of the silver.  See pictures for all weights and measurements.
