I bought 3 matching hand carved light Country French walnut doors from some grand buffet or cabinet in France, and these are the smaller side doors. The other large one shown in final photo is offered for sale separately. A bit of Neo-renaissance feel to this large 24 3/4" x 12" and 1 1/8" cabinetry panels, salvaged from a 19th century furniture piece, hutch, sideboard, or cabinetry. The Greek influence urn with fruit and florals is in deep bas relief carving and creates a 2" thickness to that section of the plaque. Shown front and back, the carved wood panels are mounted into 1 1 1/8" deep board framing which is also stain-finished. The panel would make a fabulous door for a custom cabinet - some hardware still there can be worked or ignored. I see a fine double-door bathroom medicine chest, or one of my favorite ideas would be a recessed wine cabinet with this as the door to it. Get creative! We can never keep these old panels in stock. All are sold separately.
Very good to excellent condition, ready to be made up into something fresh and new. Fabulous finish, beautiful carving and I find no chips nor cracks or damage. Authentic hardwood, hand carved late 1800s to earliest 1900, the combined weight tells you it's a solid old forest growth panel. RARE to find that old wood. Some people simply hang these as wall art. Some people use moulding to mount them on their existing cabinets, and some start with these in mind and create furniture or cabinetry using the antique doors/panels. Fun projects! You are buying 2 panels. Yes, we know they are not Black Forest carvings, but we have only the one carved wood category - forgive us. French carved!
